It is located 6 miles east of Cottage Grove a well know location for visitors. Dorena Dam was completed in 1949 and has been a nice place to enjoy the outdoors ever since. The Community claims this Oregon scenic byway attraction, two recreational lakes, the famous Row River biking-hiking trail, three golf courses and the best in watercraft recreation. Our beautiful community is located in western Oregon at the southern end of the Willamette Valley. Dorena Lake is just a 30 minute drive from Eugene and is easily accessible via Interstate five.

The area is rich with history, art as well as classic American architecture with construction completion dates ranging from the late 1800's to the 1940's in a downtown area used as the setting for the famous "Animal House" parade scene.
