Piru Lake situated downstream from Pyramid Lake and can be accessed from Piru Canyon Road near the town of Piru, California.  The elevation of the lake is 1,043 ft, and the elevation of the dam spillway is 1,055 ft.  The Lake Piru Recreation Area is an extensive campground around the lake with boat rental facilities, picnic areas, camping, tent sites and other conveniences.  Our watercraft services require advance reservations to be able to accommodate your needs.  Lake Piru does not allow jet skis on the lake.

Information on Lake Pillsbury boat rentals and water sport company servicing this beautiful lake in California.  Lake Pillsbury is an artificial lake in the Mendocino National Forest of Lake County, created from the waters coming from the Eel River by Scott Dam.  Elevation is 1,818 ft with 65 miles of shoreline and covering 2,003 acres of water sport fun!  Activities in the Lake Pillsbury Recreation Area include power boats, fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, sailing, picnicking, hiking and waverunner rentals.  There are two main access roads to the lake the north end is a gravel road.  If you are coming to the lake to go fishing there are surveys periodically conducted to determine the usefulness of the brush and the success of the bass population in the lake as a whole. 

The brush piles provide a place for small fish to hide and also act as an attractant for adult bass.  The pike minnow continue to be a serious problem in Lake Pillsbury and the entire Eel River system so we encourage people to not catch and release these pests.  All of the campgrounds at Lake Pillsbury are open from May to September, except Oak Flat which is open all year.  Lake Pillsbury campsites are designated for up to 2 vehicles each (there is a fee for additional vehicles) and a maximum of 6 people; you must reserve your watercraft rentals in advance.  The vault toilets are a modern no-odor type. In addition to the sites described below, there is a no charge overflow site at Oak Flat.  Camping is on a first come, first served basis, with no reservations.
