Vega LakeOfficial information on Vega Lake boat rentals, jet ski, water sports, and watercraft service company near this large reservoir around the Grand Valley and Grand Mesa, Cororado area.  While this state park abounds with outdoor recreational opportunities for water skiing, wakeboading, tubing, wakesurfing, and air chair; it is also outstanding coldwater fishing is arguably its real claim to fame.  Those visiting Vega find ample space to camp at over 110 spaces.  Plus, for those who like a little more comfort, Vega State Park has five rental cabins. 

The park offers boating, skiing, camping, birding, biking, wildlife viewing, and picnicking.  Adjoining the national forest, Vega offers ready access for OHV riders, hiking, hunting, and horseback riding in the summer.  Winter brings opportunities to snowmobile, cross country ski, sled, snowshoe and tube.  Anglers can expect to catch cutthroat, cutbow, brook and brown trout.  To get here from Grand Junction, Colorado, drive 12 miles east and turn south off I-70 onto Colorado Highway 65 (exit 49).  Drive 10 miles, then take Highway 330 east through Collbran and drive the final 12 miles to the reservoir on a paved all-weather county road.

Camping is available along the eastern shores and hiking trails abound giving access to the nearby wilderness area.  The lake and State Park offers a great getaway for pleasure boaters and jet skis.  To get here take the County Road 240 north from Durango about 14 miles to the intersection of County Road 501.  Turn left and take County Road 501 north to Vallecito Reservoir, a distance of about 4 miles.  Enjoy Mountain Marina and Anglers Wharf Marina that offer some accommodations.
