Echo Reservoir State Park offers boat and jet ski rentals, and is a small lake close to Park City Ski Resort and only 30 minutes from Salt Lake City. Echo Reservoir and State Park was part of the Weber Basin Project and is managed by a different entity than the state parks. Situated in an open setting north of Coalville, Utah off highway I-80 this reservoir is at the 5,560-foot elevation with a 1,450-acre surface area.
Recreation watercraft rentals can be rented from at Echo Reservoir which include; jet ski rentals, tours and water sports lessons, wakeboard boat rentals, waverunner rentals, sea doo rentals, and wake surfing lessons. Reservations are accepted at certain sites. Fees are charged at developed areas. Available fish species include rainbow trout, brown trout, and catfish. Echo State Park has better water conditions than Jordanelle Reservoir, and is less busy during peak seasons.
Yuba Reservoir and State Park has calm waters during morning and evening hours, and provides a variety of water recreation opportunities for visitors. Yuba boat rentals, jet ski, waverunners, wakesurfing, stand up paddleboards, water trampolines, boat tours, and water sport lessons are enjoyed with sandy beaches. Yuba Reservoir has nearby off-highway vehicle riding areas, lure visitors during summer months. One of the few state parks with boat-in camping, Yuba is very popular with water re-creationists who know about this lake.
Two boat ramps, one at Yuba State Park and one at Painted Rocks, provide access for all types of watercraft rentals. The reservoir is a year-round fishery for walleye, perch, catfish, rainbow trout and northern pike. Other activities include camping, hiking, picnicking, rock hounding, bird watching, interpretive and junior ranger programs, mountain biking, and waterfowl hunting in season. At an elevation of 5,100 feet, Yuba State Park is 25 miles south of Nephi, just off Interstate 15. Yuba reservoir, when full, is 22 miles long and reaches a maximum depth of 80 feet, this is a great lake for sea doos, wakeboarding lessons, wakesurf instruction, and guided boat charters. Yuba Reservoir is the largest of many water impoundments on the Sevier River with a capacity of 250,000 acre feet of water.
